Marylebone station or London Marylebone station is a National Rail and London Underground station in central London. The station is located midway between the mainline stations at Euston and Paddington, about 1 mile (1.6 km) from each. It is in Travelcard Zone 1.
London Marylebone Railway station, serves an area to the north-west of London. One branch serves suburban stations including Wembley Stadium then towns like High Wycombe, Banbury, Stratford-upon-Avon and Birmingham. The other takes a more northerly route along the Metropolitan line via Harrow-on-the-Hill to Amersham and then on to Aylebury. It is usually much cheaper (but slightly slower) to take a Chiltern Railways train from London Marylebone to Birmingham instead of Virgin from London Euston.
Marylebone can be roughly defined as the area bounded by Oxford Street to the south, Marylebone Road to the north, Edgware Road to the west and Portland Place (or alternatively Great Portland Street) to the east. A broader definition would also include Regent's Park and the area immediately north of Marylebone Road, containing Marylebone Station, the original site of the Marylebone Cricket Club at Dorset Square, and the neighbourhood known as Lisson Grove.
