London SE3 is the postcode for Blackheath in the London Borough of Greenwich and the London Borough of Lewisham.
SE3 can be split into four sections: Kidbrooke, Blackheath Village, Blackheath Park and Westcombe Park. Westcombe is the most northerly sector, a square of streets between Greenwich Park and the Blackwall Tunnel Approach Road (A102M). The streets meander, as this is all downhill from the heath to the main Greenwich road (A206). There is a mixture of property here but the standard is uniformly high. Uphill the stations of Blackheath and Kidbrooke are on a line from Dartford and Bexleyheath to London Bridge and Cannon Street/Charing Cross. A trip down the hill to Loampit Vale in Lewisham will take you to a decent bus depot and away from bottlenecks on the heath. To the west, down Blackheath Hill, are the East London tube termini of New Cross and New Cross Gate. The DLR now crosses from the Isle of Dogs to brush past the western border of SE3 to stop at Greenwich, Deptford Bridge, Elverson Road and Lewisham. The 1897 foot tunnel at Greenwich allows a more sedate crossing of Father Thames. |
